The Tintype Studio is a photography studio that specializes in historical wet-plate collodion photography.  During the summer we have occasionally worked in the tradition of the travelling tintype studios of the 19th century, setting up shop at fairs, events, and exhibitions. We are located in Hamilton, Ontario.

We are available for private tintype photography sessions, workshops and speaking engagements.  Our focus is not only to shoot tintypes, but to educate those interested in learning about the process and its history through both lectures and hands-on demonstration workshops (for these inquiries, we require ample notice).

We only run portrait sessions once every couple months. Please check our events page for upcoming sessions.
